YEREVAN. – It is the parliamentary system of governance that creates good preconditions for becoming a democratic state.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction member Artak Davtyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Thursday, reflecting on the proposed concept for constitutional reforms in the country.

In the RPA MP’s words, this concept contains more important matters than the model of governance.

“One of the most pressing circles is the social issues. In addition, [there is] also the [question of] rule of law, or human rights and freedoms,” Davtyan added.

As per the ruling party NA member, however, the final version will become clear next spring, whereupon the people will make their choice.

The concept for constitutional reforms was submitted to the President on October 15.
