YEREVAN. – Owing to the third Armenian-Russian scientific-tourism expedition, which was held from October 17 to 25 in Armenia and in Kars Province of Turkey, awareness toward Armenia is growing in the international tourism market.

Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Volinkin, stated the abovementioned at a press conference devoted to this expedition, stressing that, in this way, there is a growing number of people who wish to visit Armenia.

Ambassador Volinkin also expressed a conviction that this expedition will promote the development of Armenia’s tourism industry, informed the press service of the Youth Organization of the ruling Republican Party.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, for her part, highlighted that the concept of regional tourism is developing throughout the world, and Armenia must be able to be competitive in this context, too.

In turn, Armenian Institute of Tourism Rector Robert Minasyan informed that in the next—fourth—expedition, they will present Armenia and Kars to the Moscow-based tour operators, and Turkish experts also will take part in these presentations.
