YEREVAN. – At a press conference on Wednesday, Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Kukhta, dismissed the media information with respect to the launch of direct flights between Yerevan, Armenia, and Simferopol, Crimea.

In his words, the Ukrainian Embassy immediately reacted to this information, and talks were held with representatives of the Armenian MFA and the General Department of Civil Aviation.

“I can clearly say that the official bodies of the [Armenian] authorities have stated that no one has given permission for direct flights. As for the [aforesaid media] information, this could be another information attack,” the ambassador stated.

Kukhta recalled that pursuant to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations and in line with the Armenia-Ukraine bilateral agreements, all flights between Armenia and Ukraine shall be agreed formally, and through diplomatic channels.
