Russian-Armenian businessman Levon Hayrapetyan, who has been placed under house arrest in Moscow, is transferred to a civic hospital once in every three days, where he receives appropriate treatment.

Hayrapetyan’s physician, neurologist Henri Bakunts, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I paid a visit to Levon Hayrapetyan in October. His health is unstable, he is receiving medication, I have prescribed treatment, but it’s impossible to receive quality treatment at home. That’s why they permit [him] to go to hospital once in every three days and receive catheter [treatment] there,” the physician said.

In Bakunts’ words, the businessman also suffers from psychological problems.

“Let’s hope that everything will end very soon and Levon Hayrapetyan’s [health] condition will return to normal,” the doctor added.

The Russian-Armenian businessman also has cancer and diabetes.

Levon Hayrapetyan was detained in a Moscow airport on July 15 and subsequently arrested. On July 24, the Russian Federation Investigation Committee brought two criminal charges against him: embezzlement or misuse, and money laundering. On September 12, the Russian-Armenian businessman was charged with fraud, too. On October 3, however, a Moscow district court ruled in favor of releasing Hayrapetyan from prison and placing him under house arrest.

Even though Levon Hayrapetyan has health problems, he was kept in prison until recently. Hayrapetyan’s detention will terminate on December 15.
