YEREVAN. – The Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, on Wednesday received a delegation led by US Ambassador John Heffern.
The minister thanked the ambassador in connection with several USAID (United States Agency for International Development)-assisted education programs that were implemented in Armenia.
Ashotyan also spoke about the need to expand and develop inter-university cooperation.
In addition, the interlocutors reflected on the idea of founding an American Studies Center at Yerevan State University.
Furthermore, the Armenian minister underscored the need to conduct English language courses, and set up English language extracurricular groups in Armenia’s schools.
Ambassador Heffern, for his part, reflected on the bachelor’s degree education being provided at the American University of Armenia, and the granting of double diplomas.
The US diplomat also spoke about the activities of the international schools and the American Center in Armenia.
In addition, the parties discussed online study courses and journalism education.
