YEREVAN. – Armenian Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov urged the opponents of the Eurasian integration to think about where they can get cheap weapons and fuel, except for Russia.
He stated Russia is selling weapons and ammunition in local fees. Meanwhile, Armenia gets petroleum products without export duty of 30 percent.
“If you know any other state that would do the same, just name it. You don't know? Because there is no such а state,” he said in the parliament.
The official representative of the ruling party described as “far-fetched” the arguments that Armenia will lose sovereignty in the Eurasian Union.
“Does it mean that every member state of the European Union or NATO lost their sovereignty? It's nonsense. You will not find this even in Utopia by Thomas More,” he added.
At the same time, according to Sharmazanov, there is no need to talk about West's shutting the door behind Yerevan after Armenia made a decision to join Customs Union. Officials and ambassadors of the EU have openly declared that they are ready to continue cooperation with Armenia.
“West's taboo on Armenia is out of question,” Sharmazanov emphasized.
