A cat was living behind a wall in a Cairo subway station for the past five years.

And a man working at a nearby shop fed the animal all this time.

Big cats had attacked it five years ago, and in an attempt to hide, the animal had entered into the wall through a tiny hole, but it could not get out, Fishki.net reported.

Animal rights advocates brought public attention on the condition of this cat, and decided to liberate the animal from its long-term “imprisonment.”

As a result, it took five hours to tear down the wall and rescue the cat.
