YEREVAN. – Number of police forces drastically increased in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue in a few minutes. Such an unprecedented number of law enforcement officers is observed for the first time during the protest against electricity tariff rise over the last 4 days.

Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan has also arrived, as reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

Members of “Human Shield” initiative – show-business representatives, who promised to stand as a human shield and prevent clashes – are also in Baghramyan Avenue. They have formed a chain and ask the present not to come close to the police chain. Nikol Pashinyan is the only MP present at the protest now.  

Earlier, the protestors had also blocked Mashtots-Sayat-Nova crossing, but opened it in an hour, joining the protest going on in Baghramyan Avenue.
