YEREVAN. – Russian Federation (RF) entry rights have been restored for 2,600 citizens of the Republic of Armenia (RA).

Head of the Armenian State Migration Agency (ASMA), Gagik Yeganyan, told the aforementioned to reporters on Wednesday.

In his words, the respective talks with the Russian side have been successful.

“[A total of] 9,500 people petitioned to us [i.e. the ASMA]; explanatory work was done with each of them, [and] the list of necessary documents was submitted. Many of them did not even know what violations they had committed in Russia.

“We, in partnership with the relevant RF agencies, are attempting to mitigate the extent of penalty of these people.

“During the year, we sent the 9,500 petitions to the RF. Twenty to sixty people petition to us every day.

“Letters of the 6,000 of the 9,500 petitions have already been received, and 2,600 RA citizens have received the right to again enter the RF,” said Yeganyan.
