YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA), Galust Sahakyan, on Tuesday received Ambassador Traian Hristea, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Armenia, who is ending his mission in the country.
Sahakyan, highly assessing Hristea’s activities in Armenia, noted that Armenia-EU relations have dynamically developed during his term in office.
The NA speaker noted that the EU Delegation to Armenia has actively and effectively worked in several domains. Galust Sahakyan, touching upon the cooperation between the NA and the EU Delegation, highlighted the role of the parliaments in the expansion of state relations.
Ambassador Hristea, for his part, highly praised EU-Armenia cooperation.
He especially thanked the President of the NA for organizing and appropriately holding, in March, the Plenary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly to Armenia. The Head of the EU Delegation also expressed his gratitude to the NA committees, with which he closely cooperated during his tenure in the country.
The interlocutors also reflected on the constitutional amendments in Armenia, the liberalization of Armenia-EU visas, and further cooperation.
