YEREVAN. - Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan today received the first Resident Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi.

Abrahamyan congratulated Japan’s Ambassador with the commencement of his mission, expressing confidence that the presence of diplomatic mission in Armenia and Japan will give a new impetus to the strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries, as well as development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The PM expressed satisfaction with the political dialogue between Armenia and Japan, considering it necessary to make efforts for the activation of trade and economic ties and full realization of the current potential. In this context, the PM underscored the importance of meetings and working forums with business representatives.

Ambassador Taguchi thanked for the reception, assuring that he will do his best to expand and deepen the cooperation. According to him, the opening of the Embassy can become a turning point in the development of relations.

The PM thanked the government of Japan for the financial and technical support provided to Armenia.
