One year has passed since the death of the Armenian soldier Khachatour Badasyan, killed as a result of the aggression of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Khacahtur’s father, Lyova Badasyan, has returned from Russia on this occasion.

The soldier’s father told Armenian News – NEWS.am that Khachatour was born in Haghtanak (Victory) village of Armenia’s Tavush province only 4 months after the liberation of Shushi. Active and amiable, Khachatour was the favorite of his relatives, neighbors and friends.

After leaving the school, Khachatour left with his father for Russia to work. His diligence and abilities became a revelation for his father. When 18, Khachatour returned to his homeland to fulfill his civic duty.

“When he was joining the army, I told him: “You’re a man, go and serve your homeland with dignity,” to which he answered: “I’ll serve better than you, Dad.” He kept his promise,” Lyova Badasyan said.

Khachatour Badasyan, 19, died courageously in the night of July 26 when preventing the infiltration attempt by the adversary. According to the directive of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President, he was posthumously bestowed with Medal of Courage.
