An Armenian died Thursday as a result of the terrorists’ shelling in Damascus, the capital city of Syria.

The victim’s name is Sarkis Parsigian, and he was born in 1954, informed the Hayern Aysor (Armenians Today) periodical.

Parsigian’s wake will be held Friday at the St. Sarkis Armenian Church of Damascus.

Around 60 to 70 thousand Armenians lived in Syria before the start of the civil war in the country. More than half of these Armenians resided in Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, and the rest lived in Damascus and in several other cities.
