YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Saturday received Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (CiO OSCE).

The interlocutors discussed the situation in recent days at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact. They expressed concern about the latest frequent ceasefire violations.

President Sargsyan underscored the need to reach an agreement regarding the incident-investigation mechanism proposed by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, and stressed that this mechanism will enable to avoid such exacerbation of the situation and loss of human lives.

He also highly praised the increase—in such situations—of the monitoring conducted by the Office of the CiO OSCE.

President Sargsyan and Ambassador Kasprzyk also reflected on the Shant (Lightning) 2015 strategic command and staff military exercises being held throughout Armenia, from Thursday to Sunday, and the objective of these drills.
