YEREVAN. – An unusual incident occurred Monday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

The cables of an elevator had snapped, and the elevator had fallen into a gorge. As a result, two people had sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned the aforementioned from the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

Accordingly, a call was received at 11:16am. It was found out that the cables of a makeshift outdoor freight elevator had snapped while carrying out construction work at a plot of land, and the elevator had fallen about 60 meters into a gorge.

The rescuers, who were dispatched to the scene, brought out two injured from the scene of the incident and transferred them to a hospital.
