YEREVAN. – As you know, 2015 is a special year not solely for Armenia, but also for Germany.

The German Ambassador to Armenia, Bernhard Matthias Kiesler, stated the aforementioned at Saturday’s opening ceremony of the international charity football tournament organized by the Embassy of Germany in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia (PHOTOS).

“We [i.e. Germans] are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the German reunification,” the ambassador added. “The Embassy of Germany in Yerevan has organized many events on this occasion. Today’s event is one of them, whereby we celebrate this year together with our embassies throughout the world.”

The Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Armenia Khachik Asryan, also delivered opening remarks, and congratulated Ambassador Kiesler on this anniversary.

Football teams from several embassies and international organizations in Armenia as well as the squad from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia will compete in this tournament.
