YEREVAN. -  “Realize your dream, be a Santa Claus!” initiative members have found a unique way of fundraising for three socially vulnerable families. They installed two telescopes in a park next to Yerevan’s Republic Square metro station today, offering citizens to use them free of charge.

“We tried to go out of the standard fundraising format and installed telescopes, through which the citizens can watch the moon and the stars free of charge. And if they wish, they can help three socially vulnerable families with money, food or toys,” co-author of the initiative Edgar Khachatryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to Edgar, all three families live in bad conditions. One of them relocated to Armenia from Mongloia. The father who was Armenian by descent, died, and the mother is Mongolian. After her husband’s death, she decided to grow her children in Armenia and now has to take care of the three minors alone.

The campaign will be held till October 26. The telescopes will be installed at 7:00 p.m. and removed at 11:00 p.m.

The organizers are planning to carry out similar campaigns once in 3-4 months.
