Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree, which set the quota on issuing temporary residence permits in Russia for 2016.

The decree signed for 2016 sets quota for issuing 125,900 permits for temporary residence in Russia for foreign citizens and persons without citizenship upon their applications, the decree says.

The quota constituted 151175 permits in 2015. The scope of the quota was set considering the migration situation and economic condition of each specific region.

According to the notice attached to the document, the adopted decision will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of regulating migration processes and ensuring single application of legislative norms according to the quotas both in Russia and distant regions, RIA Novosti reports.
