YEREVAN. - Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan today received newly-appointed Director General of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Central and West Asia Department (CWAD), Sean O'Sullivan.

The delegation also included the Armenia’s newly-appointed ADB Office Country Director Shane Rosenthal.

At the meeting, Abrahamyan expressed conviction that the 10-year cooperation between Armenia and ADB will gain a new impetus. 

The interlocutors discussed the prospects of implementing joint programs in the area of transportation, water supply and energy.

The PM attached special importance to the construction of North-South Road Corridor, noting that it has a strategic significance for Armenia.  The PM also noted the importance of repairing Vanadzor – Alaverdi – Georgian border motorway.

Mr O’Sallivan noted that on their way from Georgia to Armenia, the ADB delegation got familiarized with the work carried out on North-South and Vanadzor-Georgian border motorways. The bank is ready to support the further implementation of these programs, he said.  

Apart from this, the sides discussed the Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program, Water Supply and Drainage Program and Infrastructure Sustainability Support Program. The PM also touched on the School Seismic Safety Improvement Program and thanked the ADB for its active participation in preparing the latter.
