Russia has launched an initiative to zero the customs duties for orange imports in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for one year.

This is noted in a statement posted on the EAEU Law Portal.

Such a measure is proposed to be applied also to cumin, anise seeds, and salted leather.

“The objective of the proposed measures is to enrich the [EAEU] domestic market with some types of agricultural products, whose volumes are not enough to satisfy the needs of the EAEU member countries,” the statement reads, according to Interfax news agency.

The EAEU comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
