Residents of California filed a lawsuit against Starbucks, claiming that the company routinely underfills its Lattes in order to save money on milk, they said in a claim.

According to the CBS channel, the lawsuits against a popular chain of coffee houses were filed in San Francisco and San Diego. The claimants affirm that the company "cheats purchasers by providing less fluid ounces in their lattes than represented". According to their estimates, on average, they underfill 25% of the promised volume, RIA Novosti reported.

"By underfilling its lattes, thereby shortchanging its customers, Starbucks has saved countless millions of dollars in the cost of goods sold and was unjustly enriched by taking payment for more product than it delivers,” the lawsuit says.

The Starbucks spokesperson confirmed were aware of the plaintiffs’ claims but assured that all the accusations are groundless and the client who are dissatisfied with a quality of drink can ask for a new one.
