YEREVAN. – Armenia is continuing the negotiations within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) regarding calculations in the currencies of the member states.

Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan, who is also the Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms, told the above-said to reporters on Tuesday.

And to the query on whether there is progress in these negotiations and if yes, why it is not visible to this day, Gabrielyan responded: “Decades were needed for these negotiations in the European Union. With this logic, half a year is not much.”

In September 2015, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had proposed that the EAEU member countries switch to the Russian ruble in their calculations of strategic products.

The EAEU comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
