Georgian Prime Minister Georgiy Kvirikashvili expressed concern over escalation of violence in Karabakh and expressed hope that there will be de-escalation with the efforts of the international community.

In turn, head of staff of the Georgian armed forces Vakhtang Kapanadze said that Georgia has to play a role of a mediator in Karabakh settlement, Gruziya Online reported.

He expressed regret at the fact that it was impossible to solve the conflict peacefully due to several reasons.

“This is a painful process for the entire region. We are attentively following the events. We have very close ties with our colleagues in Armenia and Azerbaijan. We are getting full information,” the Georgian army chief assured.
