The escalation of situation in Nagorno-Karabakh can lead to a large conflict in the Caucasus, the Secretary-General of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha said.

“This is fraught with a very large conflict in the Caucasus, and thus the leaders –first of all that of Azerbaijan - should understand this,” he said in an interview with Sputnik.

According to Bordyuzha, the CSTO is taking part in the normalization of Karabakh crisis through its political potential.

“Today we should all take necessary measures so that this conflict doesn’t grow, so that it is stopped and the military actions and firing are ceased,” Bordyuzha said.
