MOSCOW. - Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed during a phone conversation their commitment to contribute to the strengthening of ceasefire in Syria. They also discussed the situation in Donbass and Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian MFA reports.  

“The normalization of Syrian conflict was in the center of attention. The heads of the Russian and U.S. foreign agencies confirmed their commitment to further contribute to the ceasefire in Syria through joint efforts with the exception of struggle with terror groups and ensuring access of [humanitarian] aid cargo to the civilian population in blocked regions,” the MFA message reads.

The interlocutors urged the opposing sides in Syria to act in the interests of facilitating the humanitarian situation.

Apart from this, Lavrov and Kerry considered other pressing international issues, including the situation in Donbass and Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russia MFA reports.
