I don’t think that either Russia or Turkey is interested in resumption of war in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Frank Pallone, Co-Chair of the US Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, told about the aforementioned to the Voice of America Armenian service.

He expressed a view that the resumption of war in Karabakh is the decision of the Azerbaijani leadership. As per Pallone, one gets the impression that when the Azerbaijani government faces domestic problems, the way out is resuming the war, and this is why we need to take a much more serious approach toward maintaining peace.

The US congressman added that even though he would have liked to see Armenia in the European Union and in NATO, the fact remains that it is heavily dependent on Russia.

He added that the West tries to help Armenia with investments, but it is not ready for a military intervention.

Frank Pallone stressed that Russia, which is considered the strategic ally of Armenia, sells weapons also to Azerbaijan, and it is not willing to jeopardize its relations with Azerbaijan, for the sake of Armenia.
