MOSCOW. - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the new Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Tigran Sargsyan Monday, the official Kremlin website reports.
“Now you have a very responsible mission: you have become an international official of high rank. I very much hope that the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will work successfully under your chairmanship,” Putin said.
According to him, there are many issues before them which should be jointly decided. According to the Russian President, the most important think is to maximally use the privileges of the EAEU for solving the issues which their respective countries face. “We actually set up this integration union to create additional conditions for the growth of economic and development of social sphere,” he noted.
For his part, Tigran Sargsyan thanked Vladimir Putin for the opportunity to discuss the prospects for the development of the EAUE. “As you have mentioned, potential is indeed accumulated for the integration, which will serve our peoples’ interests. On the one hand, we must ensure the continuity of our work in our board. And on the other hand, we must be ready to adequately respond to the new challenges exiting today. We see that the trade and economic space, as well as the global landscape are changing and the Eurasian Economic Commission must be ready to adapt to these global transformations which are taking place.”
Sargsyan also assured that he will do his best for the full implementation of the directions and priorities which are determined by the heads of states.
