MOSCOW. - In the framework of his visit to Moscow, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov met with Korean Parliament Speaker Chung Ui-hwa Thursday.

The sides discussed the bilateral programmes aimed at the development of parliamentary cooperation. Besides, specific agreement was reached on the expected program of support and cooperation by the Parliament of Korea to the Armenian NA. Mr Chung Ui-hwa inquired as to the Armenian-Azerbaijani problems, as well as the progress of education and economy in Armenia. The Armenian NA Deputy Speaker presented comprehensive and exhausting information on the aforementioned issues.

During the conversation, Eduard Sharmazanov also touched on the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict, the large-scale aggression unleashed by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the beginning of April, the handwriting of ISIS terrorist organization noticed in Azerbaijan’s actions, as well as the organization of education and the current situation of economy in Armenia.

The Armenian NA Deputy Speaker stated that one of the main obstacles to the fast development of the Armenian economy is the actual blockade of the country by the Turkish authorities.

The Speaker of the Korean Parliament thanked Sharmazanov for the detailed information and assured that the Korean Parliament will continue the close cooperation with the Armenian Parliament.
