Azerbaijan continues to ignore the numerous urges of the international community to respect the ceasefire, violating the tripartite agreements of 1994-1995, which are of indefinite duration.  

Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian stated the aforementioned Wednesday at the meeting with his Czech Republic counterpart Lubomír Zaorálek in the framework of his working visit to Prague.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the effective mutual cooperation between the two countries, touching on issues regarding the preparation of the Czech Republic President’s visit to Armenia and the results of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission session held in Prague last week, Armenian MFA press-service reports.

Apart from this, the sides expressed satisfaction with the periodic consultations between the agencies headed by them.  

FM Nalbandian also briefed his Czech counterpart on the consequences of the aggressive military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh in the beginning of April.  He reconfirmed that Armenia is ready to jointly work with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to achieve exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According to the Armenian FM, to create conditions for the resumption of talks, it is necessary to guarantee the unconditional implementation of tripartite agreements of 1994-1995 on the establishment and enhancement of ceasefire, as well as implement the Co-Chairs’ proposal to introduce mechanisms of incident investigation.

For his part, Lubomír Zaorálek stressed that the Karabakh issue can be solved only by peaceful means and in the framework of the negotiation process, which is underway through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.  

The sides also exchanged views on the Armenian-EU ties.
