The former president of Argentina Cristina Kirchner became one of figures of foreign currency trading in the Central Bank of Argentina, reports RIA Novosti.

The judge Claudio Bonadio initiated a criminal case against Kirchner, as well as the former Minister of Economy Axel Kislyof, and the Central Bank's former manager Alejandro Vanoli, reports the Notimex. According to the judge, foreign currency transactions brought losses to the state. Each of the accused properties is attached at $ 1 million .

According to investigators, the Central Bank of Argentina, which is  an independent financial institution, in 2015 equaled the exchange rate of a dollar to 10 pesos, whereas the real exchange rate in the New York Stock Exchange was 14-15 pesos. In December, Argentina's new president Mauricio Macri announced a devaluation, which followed the decrease of the national currency – a dollar against 15 pesos.

Bonadio considers that such transactions could not be carried out without having informed the former president or the economy minister.
