The U.S. has fears concerning the fragile situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Official Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State John Kirby said Monday.

According to him, the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Vienna. In Kirby’s words, they will discuss how to move forward. The fragility of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh raises fears, Kirby said, RIA Novosti reports.

The U.S. is always interested in the peaceful solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he added. The U.S. doesn’t speak of mediation, but it’s important for it to see the level of violence go down, and the sides work towards the achievement of a better result, the Spokesperson noted.

Talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement are underway in Vienna. The meeting is hosted by the foreign ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries (U.S., Russia and France), with the participation of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents.
