Eight thousand terrorists entered from Turkey to Syria in the last two months, Advisor to Syrian President Bouthaina Shaaban stated, RIA Novosti reports.

“During the last two months eight thousand terrorists crossed from Turkey to Syria,” she said during the videoconference on the fight against terrorism in Washington.

According to Shaaban, “it would be impossible to imagine the current situation but for those 860 km on the Syrian-Turkish border.”

“All the terrorists enter Syria via Turkey,” she noted.

Shaaban stressed that “the U.S. should influence its partners in the region for the latter to stop funding and supporting terrorism in Syria.”

The advisor to the Syrian President accused Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia of this, noting that they “sabotage the talks in Geneva”. “Unfortunately, the international superpowers, including the U.S. and Russia, haven’t yet been able to change the situation,” she said.
