Fines for unsanitary conditions and throwing litter in illegal places in Ukrainian capital will grow up to 17,000 hryvna. 

This step will become part of a new project of Kyiv Municipality's ''Clean city'' project, Korrespondent.net reports.

''We will not reach the desired level of cleanness if there is no serious responsibility behind this,'' noted the Deputy Head of Kyiv administration, Pyotr Panteleyev.

In his words, the Municipality also plans to facilitate the procedure of fine imposition. The public inspectors and heads of population's self-organization authorities are expected to be authorized to impose those fines.

Currently, the fine for unsanitary conditions in Kyiv is 1.7 thousand hryvna (approx. 4.5 thousand rubles).

By the end of May, three rescuers died as a result of a fire in Lvov's landfill.  Following this incident, Ukraine's Ecology Ministry began to check all the places of trash buildup in the country.
