A brave dog  saved its owner's life, fighting with a tiger which escaped from national park into the village in the north of India, Times of India reported.

The incident occurred on Friday night at Barbatpur village, near Dudhwa National Park in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The farmer, Gurdev Singh, was sleeping outside his house, with the four-year-old Jacky guarding his sleep.

 Smelling a tiger approach, the dog unsuccessfully tried to make his owner wake up and then rushed on a tiger which was ready to attack.

When the men woke up and raised the alarm, the tiger retreated, dragged with a dog. The dog's body was later found near the village. It is reported that the family where Jacky lived and other locals organized honorable funeral for the dog.
