Hovhannes  Aivazovsky's painting “The Survivor” was sold for almost £500,000 at the auction of MacDougall's auction house, RIA Novosti reported quoting  the founder and the head of MacDougall's William MacDougall.

“The Survivor” was sold at auction for £499,000 at a preliminary estimate of £450-600 thousand. 

One more lot, the image of the Syrian city of Palmyra by Alexander Yakovlev was sold for £461,800 at the estimated cost of £100-150 thousand.

The third place takes a picture by Yuri Pimenov "The сostume of Bolshoi Theatre" sold for £ 273.9 thousand.

It became clear that a portrait of a girl by Konstantin Makovsky was sold for £35 thousand at the auction, becoming top lot of the "Russian" auction Bonhams in London.

However, the main and most expensive lots of the auction house – works by Mikhail Vrubel, Mikhail Larionov and Yury Annenkov – have not been sold.
