Saltwater Brewery, an American brewery, has developed edible rings which assemble six tin cans . The goal of the design is to protect marine animals and birds that are often get trapped and become victims of ordinary plastic packages .

The creators say that the new packaging will serve as food for the animals , instead of killing them . The rings are made of wheat and barley wastes that remain during making beer . According to Kedem, the brewery  hopes that their newly created packages will drive other companies to use safe  and edible materials in packaging of their products .
