YEREVAN. – Over 144 people, 50 of them Armenians, are stuck at the Upper Lars checkpoint at the Georgia-Russia border, Russian crisis center reported.

The are provided with tents, food and necessary things.

The Armenian citizens are being transported by a special aircraft under the agreement of the Armenian and Russian governments.

Overall, 234 Armenian citizens and 13 Russian citizens in the opposite direction have been transported by six flights so far.

According to preliminary estimates, the repair of the damaged road section will last 15 to 20 days. This road section had collapsed on June 23 due to heavy rainfall. There were no affected, but 60 to 70 tourists were evacuated.
