The authorities of Florida call on the residents of the state to prepare for likely devastating floods and destructive winds of the Ermina storm, reports the Voice of America. The Ermina storm is expected to pass as a whirlwind, after it reaches on Thursday the northern coastal part of the state from the Gulf of Mexico. Bad weather conditions made the governor Florida Rick Scott declare a state of emergency.
Many school in the coasts of the Mexican Gulf canceled extracurricular activities and urged students to stay at home. In such cities like Orlando and Tallahassee, the local residents store up sandbags to protect their houses from the flood.
