YEREVAN. – Industrial photovoltaic solar power network stations (solar parks) will be built in Armenia to reduce the country’s dependence on imported energy resources.

According to Hayk Badalyan, head of the Renewable Energy and Energy Savings of Department at the Ministry of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources, early next year, an international consulting firm will prepare the feasibility studies and tender packages for the respective selected sites. These will form the basis for determining—on a competitive basis—the energy tariffs of solar power plants in Armenia. 

As a result of the studies that were conducted, Gegharkunik, Armavir, and Aragatsotn Provinces have been considered expedient and more efficient to implement this project in the country.
