The resident from Cagliari province, Italy, turned 111, The Local reported.
Valerio Piroddi, 111, celebrated his birthday on November 13 together with his family and friends. The man has two children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
President of the Global Community of Longevity Roberto Pili said that Valerio Piroddi had all the chances to become the oldest inhabitant of Europe.
“He's a true phenomenon, with a biological age of at least 20 years less than his true age,” Pili said.
The President of the Community also assured that Piroddi has “excellent memory and motor skills”. he also lives independently and walks to the farm where he worked until the age of 85. The man has a typical Mediterranean diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables along with cheese and red wine. He's also a fan of donuts and ice cream, and was able to indulge in plenty of sweet treats on his special day.
