University of Engineering and Technology of Peru has won RIBA International Prize at the international architectural competition for the best building in the world, reports the Art Newspaper.

As the jury members think, the building built by Irish Grafton Architects combines the local culture and modern trends in architecture. According to the chairman of the jury Richard Rogers, the new building is in harmony with the landscape of Peru's capital city, highways, and mountainous coast of the Pacific.

There were six candidates in the short List of the contest: Philippe Prost, Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield, DRDH, and Menos e Mais architectural association, reports ABC.
