With assistance by the European Union (EU), the “Support for Noyemberyan” NGO will open small food workshops in bordering Tavush Province of Armenia.

With the received a grant, equipment will be purchased for drying fruits, pasteurizing milk and canned food, and for some other objectives, NGO head Hasmik Azibekyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

This equipment will be given to operating farm cooperatives, which will join in one association.

The project has received a €976-thousand assistance from the EU Pilot Regional Development Programme, and the Government of Armenia will fund €244 thousand.

In addition, these cooperatives are expected to invest €407 thousand more from their future income, toward development of their production.
