The friend of South Korean President Park Geun-hye at the centre of a corruption scandal Choi Soon-Sil denied charges, Yonhap reported.
She attended the first preparatory hearing held at the Seoul Central District Court in southern Seoul.
Though Choi Soon-Sil has never hold office, she was charged of fraud and abuse of power of her close friend Park Geun-hye to intervene in public affairs for own enrichment.
South Korean parliament announced the impeachment of Park Geun-hye on December 9.
