Russian embassy in Azerbaijan expects permission of the authorities to visit blogger Alexander Lapshin.

On February 8 the embassy sent a note to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry asking to permit the Russian consulate staff to visit Russian citizen Alexander Lapshin in accordance with the Consul Convention between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan, the Embassy in Baku said in response to Armenian News-NEWS.am inquiry.

The authorities have to give permission within three days. There have been no response so far.

Blogger Alexander Lapshin has been extradited from Belarus to Azerbaijan.
