The balance of power between Baku and Yerevan has been restored, stated Russian political scientist Alexander Skakov.

He noted this speaking at Tuesday’s discussion on the internal and external factors of the rising of tension at the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

In his words, after the supply of Russian arms—especially of the Iskander missile system—to Armenia, this military balance has probably been restored.

“Recent tension in the Karabakh conflict zone was a test, not solely for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh,” added Skakov. “It also aimed to test the [respective] reaction by the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, and [US President Donald] Trump himself.”
