In all likelihood, the new Armenia-European Union (EU) framework agreement will be signed by the end of the year.
Bedo Demirdjian, Public Relations and Communications Officer at European Armenian Federation for Justice & Democracy (EAFJD), expressed such a view speaking to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“The agreement to be signed is one or two degrees lower than the [EU] Association Agreement, but it is important for Armenia’s reforms,” he said. “The European Union is the largest donor for Armenia.
“We believe that this agreement is a great success for the Republic of Armenia, [and] which will give opportunity to achieve success with the parliamentary system and this new agreement. Having a political will is also very important here, so that the provisions of the agreement become a reality.”
During his joint news conference with European Council President Donald Tusk, on Monday in Brussels, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced that the parties had completed the talks on the new Armenia-EU framework agreement.
