The consistent advocacy of hatred and propaganda of war by Azerbaijan will lead to mass and grave human rights violations, as it occurred in April 2016, as a result of a large-scale military aggression by Azerbaijan.

Ashot Hovakimian, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Armenia, stated about the aforementioned in his address at the 34th Regular Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), which was convened on Monday and Tuesday in Geneva, Switzerland.

Also he stressed the importance of fighting against Azerbaijan’s criminalization of those who visit Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), including journalists and Parliamentarians.

In addition, Deputy FM Hovakimian reflected on the steps taken by Armenia toward genocide prevention within the framework of UN.

Furthermore, Ashot Hovakimian spoke about the Syrian crisis and around 20,000 Syrian Armenian refugees that have found shelter in Armenia, as a result of this crisis. He reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to provide humanitarian assistance to the war-affected Syrian population that is under the threat of displacement.
