Oil corporation: Everyone in Armenia chooses not to use petrol, even Government

YEREVAN. - Less and less cars in Armenia get refueled with petrol, Vice President of Armenian CPS Oil Corporation, Ara Hovhannisyan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

“2-3 years ago, 70 percent of cars in Armenia ran on compressed gas, whereas now their number has reached 90 percent. Petrol has turned from a product of first priority into that of luxury,” Hovhannisyan said. In his words, even the Government has started saving on fuel: the state car fleet is also shifting to compressed gas, he added.

Along with this, CPS and Flash—two large oil corporations operating in the country—are still among the largest taxpayers, ranking 6^th and 10^th respectively.
