YEREVAN. – Prior to the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting to be held in the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan and the premiers of the other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries were received by President Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz president noted that the aforementioned meeting is an effective platform for the development of discourse, deepening of integration, and discussion of matters of mutual interest among the EAEU countries, the Press Office of the Government of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

PM Karapetyan, for his part, thanked—on behalf of the Armenian government delegation—the Kyrgyz president for the warm reception, and organizing the said meeting at a high level. In his words, the events that are envisioned during Kyrgyzstan’s EAEU chairmanship, and which will promote the further deepening of Eurasian integration processes, will start with this meeting.

Several matters on the EAEU agenda were discussed during the talk.

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
