The blogger Alexander Lapshin, who is held in detention unit in Baku, met his mother, told the lawyer of Lapshin Eduard Chernin to APA.

According to him, Bella Lapshina, who came to Azerbaijan several days ago, met her son yesterday in No.1 detention unit. During the meeting, Bella Lapshina aksed about the conditions of his detention and about his well-being. Alexander Lapshin did not express any dissatisfaction with the conditions of detention.

In December 2016, the Belarusian authorities detained the Israeli Russian blogger Alexander Lapshin in the capital city of Minsk upon the inquiry of Azerbaijan. Baku included Lapshin into its international wanted persons’ list, accusing him of visiting Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) without its consent.

On February 7 of the current year, Belarus extradited the blogger to the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku, where he was taken into custody.
